The properties of the elastic forward scattering amplitude due to analyticity in the E-plane, unitarity and crossing symmetry are reviewed. The relationship between the phase and the moduls for the symmetric amplitude and for the ratio of the particle and antiparticle amplitudes at finite and asymptotic energies is considered.
